The Student Association of the Study Programme of Chinese Literature (SPCL) which is known as LONGWENXI Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) successfully held “Sugeng Rahardjo’s Book Review: Unboxing Tiongkok” on Saturday (8/21/2021). Collaborating with Al-Azhar Youth Leader Institute (AYLI) Indonesia, LONGWENXI invited the author, Sugeng Rahardjo, a former Indonesian Ambassador to China (2013-2017) as the speaker of the event.
Tsyabita Sekar, the Ambassador of SPCL FCS UB, who also acted as the MC said that the event was carried out on several backgrounds. According to her, the event was expected to provide information amid the rampant negative issues about China, to add insights to the audience on how China could become a developed country, and to give knowledge regarding China’s influence on politics in the world.
“We hope that this event will provide us new insights on how China could become a developed country,” said Tsyabita.
Besides being attended by the students of the SPCL FCS UB, this online activity which was held via the Zoom Meeting platform at 4 – 5.40 p.m., was also attended by several lecturers of SPCL UB.
The event was opened by Tsyabita Sekar, followed by remarks from Dyah Ayu Wulan, M.Pd., as the representative of the lecturers of the SPCL FCS UB, continued by Sugeng Rahardjo’s presentation of the material as well as a question-and-answer session. Himpunan Mahasiswa Program Studi (PS) Sastra Cina (LONGWENXI) Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) berhasil menyelenggarakan kegiatan “Bedah Buku Sugeng Rahardjo: Unboxing Tiongkok” pada Sabtu (21/8/2021). Berkolaborasi dengan Al-Azhar Youth Leader Institute (AYLI) Indonesia, LONGWENXI mengundang sang penulis, Sugeng Rahardjo, mantan Duta Besar RI Tiongkok tahun 2013-2017 untuk menjadi pembicara dalam kegiatan tersebut.
Tsyabita Sekar, Duta PS Sastra Cina FIB UB selaku MC, menuturkan bahwa kegiatan tersebut dilaksanakan atas beberapa latar belakang. Menurutnya, acara tersebut diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi penimbang di tengah maraknya isu negatif tentang Tiongkok, membuka dan menambah wawasan kepada para peserta tentang bagaimana Tiongkok bisa menjadi negara maju, serta memberikan wawasan tentang pengaruh Tiongkok terhadap politik di dunia saat ini.
“Kami berharap dengan adanya kegiatan ini akan dapat memberikan wawasan baru kepada kita semua tentang rahasia Tiongkok menjadi negara maju,” ujar Tsyabita.
Selain dihadiri oleh mahasiswa PS Sastra Cina FIB UB, kegiatan daring yang dilaksanakan lewat platform Zoom Meeting pada pukul 16.00 – 17.40 WIB tersebut juga dihadiri oleh beberapa dosen PS Sastra Cina UB.
Kegiatan tersebut dibuka oleh Tsyabita Sekar, lalu sambutan dari Dyah Ayu Wulan, M.Pd. selaku dosen PS Sastra Cina FIB UB, kemudian dilanjutkan pembawaan materi oleh Sugeng Rahardjo sekaligus sesi tanya jawab. Acara diakhiri dengan sesi foto bersama dan penutup. [BRN/DTS/MSH/Humas FIB]
