[:en]Department of Languages and Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) event on the Trend of Cultural Studies and Roadmap Development of FCS UB on Thursday (22/07/2021) inviting Prof. Diah Ariani Arimbi, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., a lecturer from the Faculty of Humanities, Airlangga University, Surabaya as a speaker. The topic discussed in this event is the Current Issues in Humanities and Its Research Methods. This event was moderated by Yusri Fajar, M.A. and attended by the Dean of FCS UB, Prof. Dr. Agus Suman, SE., DEA.; Head of Language and Literature Department, Sahiruddin, M.A., Ph.D.; Head of the Department of Education, Dr. Sony Sukmawan, M.Pd.; and Mr or Mrs lecturers from the Cultural, Media, Language, and Literature Study Group.
This event is divided into four sessions. The first session was the opening by Prof. Agus Suman. The second session was filled with material presentation by Prof. Arimbi. In accordance with the topic of discussion in this event, Prof. Arimbi explained the current issues that could be research topics, as well as research methods that are often used in cultural studies. In her presentation, she said that the key in cultural studies is history, because there are no things in the future that did not have a beginning in the past. The phenomenon that occurs today, of course, can be investigated the cause of its occurrence and what it means. Prof. Arimbi also said that in Indonesia with this diverse society, there are still many research themes that can be explored. After the presentation of the material, the event continued to the third session, namely a question and answer session. In this session, the lecturers are welcome to ask questions and discuss with Prof. Arimbi. The last session in this event was the closing by Mr. Sahiruddin.[:id]Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) mengadakan acara Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Tren Kajian Budaya dan Pengembangan Peta Jalan FIB UB pada Kamis (22/07/2021) dengan mengundang Prof. Diah Ariani Arimbi, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., seorang dosen dari Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Airlangga Surabaya sebagai pemateri. Topik yang dibahas dalam acara ini adalah isu-isu terkini di bidang humaniora dan metode penelitiannya. Acara ini dimoderatori oleh Yusri Fajar, M.A. dan dihadiri oleh Dekan FIB UB, Prof. Dr. Agus Suman, SE., DEA.; Ketua Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra, Sahiruddin, M.A., Ph.D.; Ketua Jurusan Pendidikan, Dr. Sony Sukmawan, M.Pd.; serta Bapak/Ibu dosen dari Kelompok Kajian Budaya, Media, Bahasa, dan Sastra.
Acara ini dibagi menjadi empat sesi. Sesi pertama adalah pembukaan oleh Prof. Agus Suman. Sesi kedua diisi dengan pemaparan materi oleh Prof. Arimbi. Sesuai dengan topik pembahasan dalam acara ini, Prof. Arimbi memaparkan mengenai isu-isu terkini yang bisa menjadi topik penelitian, serta metode penelitian yang sering digunakan dalam kajian budaya. Dalam pemaparannya, beliau menyampaikan bahwa kunci dalam kajian budaya adalah sejarah, karena tidak ada hal-hal di masa depan yang tidak ada awalnya di masa lalu. Fenomena yang terjadi hari ini, tentu bisa diteliti penyebab terjadinya dan apa maknanya. Beliau juga menyampaikan bahwa di Indonesia dengan masyarakat yang beragam ini, masih banyak sekali tema penelitian yang bisa dieksplor. Setelah pemaparan materi, acara dilanjutkan ke sesi ketiga yaitu sesi tanya jawab. Dalam sesi ini, Bapak/Ibu dosen dipersilakan bertanya dan berdiskusi dengan Prof. Arimbi. Sesi terakhir dalam acara ini adalah penutupan oleh Bapak Sahiruddin.[:]
