An annual routine event held by CÉF was held again on (10/26/2019) at the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) building A. This year the ‘Bon Courage‘ event raised the theme of Halloween entitled ‘Au Fort du Cognelot ‘which is taken from the name of a village in France which is famous for its’ Dracula’ character. The ‘Bon Courage‘ event itself was divided into two series; they were morning and evening series.
The morning series began at 8 a.m, opened with remarks by the Chairperson of Bon Courage 12, Ibriza Fasti Ifhami, then continued with remarks by the Chairperson of the Student Association, Gazarasta Malibu, and finally the remarks from the Head of the Study Program of French Language and Literature, Mme. Rosana Hariyanti, M.A. After the remarks, the event continued with the holding of several competitions which were participated by children, high school equivalents and general level participants.
There were six types of competitions: solo vocal, poetry, storytelling, quiz, photography, and fashion competitions. The fashion contest was mostly attended by children around the age of 5-14 years old, while the poetry competition, quiz, storytelling, and solo vocal were followed by participants from high school level, and the last, photography competition that was opened to the public.
Participants came not only from Malang but also from Pandaan and Gresik. The series of competitions were held in classrooms in building A FCS UB. The announcement of the winners was immediately announced on the same day, with the general champion was MAN 2 MALANG.
The night series started at 6 a.m. This was the highlight of all the series because it was attended by several famous guest stars and took part in enlivening the ‘Bon Courage‘ event. The bands performing this night included Antrocostic, Point Sandar, ABING, and the last most waited was Peatersally. In this series of events, new students showed their talents with a performance called ‘Mini Parfait‘ where the new students played a theater in front of the audience present.
Bon Courage event was also enlivened by tenants who sell a variety of foods and drinks, and there was a ‘mini bibliothèque’ or a mini library where people who come can read French books. There was also a fun gaming booth and face painting booth.
